I realize this is an opinion question but who would know which bats are the best but the people who have used them. If there’s a reason why you rank a bat please list it. I’m really struggling to pick a bat for this season. Please consider all brands Miken, Easton, Worth, Mizuno, the bat must still be ASA approved after January 1st 2008. No “grandfathered” in bats!

I don’t have a top 10 list, but I’ve got several I really like:
My bat of choice right now is the DeMarini-Ray DeMarini Distance. Rope after rope after rope… The Miken Freak Plus is always solid. The Mizuno Techfire Wrath 98 and Crush a great bats (I prefer the Wrath).
Miken also has the Decoy. I think it’s kind of cheesy looking, all in camouflage, but looks mean nothing, really. It has a lot of pop. Several players on my team love that bat. Comes with a matching backpack, too.
I’ve seen more home runs hit by the “Miken Freak 98″ Than any other, but honestly if you are a good hitter I really don’t think the bat makes much difference. I use a worth Wicked Insanity 28 oz 34 inches. Personal Preference is key, but I don’t think you can go wrong with many of todays highly engineered bats. Try to get the best value for your money. I guess I would lean a little towards Miken you can get most of their bats under $200.00 from a Company called Line Drive.
Check out the reviews and rankings forum at http://www.softballfans.com/reviews/ . It should give you a good idea how other players rank their bats. Also, I’ve learned that because new models are introduced every year, you can save substantially by buying last year’s model.
