I know in hardball, the speed of the swing is important. But in mens slowpitch softball, is it the speed of the swing, or the heaviness of the bat, or something else? I mostly hit singles into the short outfield, but would like to go farther. Thank you very much for your response.

Softball has many skills to learn in order for you to have a high quality playing. Every player should know how important the skills are. If you are the hitter of your team, you should learn the fundamentals of softball hitting.

Remember that you have one of the most important roles in the team. The team counts on you so you should be responsible enough to do your part in the best way you can. It is not always necessary to become expert in hitting. What matter most is you have mastered the basics of softball hitting which make you the best hitter in the field of softball.

If you are a softball player, you should have enough stamina, focus and alertness. As a hitter your goal is to hit the ball away from the fielder. This article will help you in remembering the important things to be considered in softball hitting.

You should know the appropriate weight of your bat. The bat will serve as your weapon in the entire game so it is a must that you have the right bat. You should get used to the weight of your bat so that you can swing with ease and great power. You should have a connection with your bat in order for you to do the perfect hit. You should hit the bottom part of the ball to make it backspin and drive the ball further. If you have mastered this technique, your bat will be your inevitable weapon.

Stay focused on the ball you are hitting. Always keep your head in one position and one direction. Focus on the ball you are about to hit will give you time to estimate the proper timing you should use to hit the ball. The proper timing will also help you develop the right amount of confidence when executing every move.

You should hold your bat in a relaxed manner. This will give you more speed in hitting the ball. Settle your fingers in the bat with comfort so that you will feel at ease in holding it. You should set your focus on the ball you will hit and not with the way your hand holds the bat. Be relaxed but not to loose because you might throw the bat.

In hitting the ball, your knee should be bent. You should lit a bit forward but be sure to keep your hitting angle and good balance. It is not true that there is a perfect stance. Each player should make the stance in which they will feel comfortable.

Softball hitting requires a lot of energy especially when you swing the bat to hit the ball. Doing a lot and regular practice will improve your hitting skills making it almost perfect. You should always set your goal which will become your guide every time you practice hitting. You goals will serve as your fuel in order to become the best of who you are as a person and as a player as well.

The fact of wood bats is that any one of them can be shattered. Nevertheless, with some awareness and the right bat, they have been known to last a long, long time. The first thing to do to cut down breakage is to appreciate that the placement of the trademark is not by accident. As no two trees are identically, no two bats are similar either. The trademark is placed on a space, which has the greatest chance of failing. The exact opposite side of the trademark is also a place where bats will more likely to fail too. Take a close look and you will see how the grain runs and why this is true. So the simple rule of prevention here is’ Bat with LABEL UP OR LABEL DOWN.

The old time professional wood bats were the size of a red wood tree. They weighed as much as five men could handle and could knock down a block wall with one whack. Dominant men like Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb wielded these manly bats with a talent and exactness that no modern day baseball pro could ever dream to have.

Then again, Ruth and Cobb didn’t have hurlers that registered triple-digit with their fastballs. They didn’t face the advanced and near magical pitching approach of the Braves bullpen or the Yankees superstars. Today’s batters want to fight fire with fire, and so the technology behind today’s professional bats has to match the velocity and motion of today’s professional pitchers.

Superstar hitters like Derek Jeter and Scott Rolen rely on the best professional wood bats out there to give them a shot. Compared to the mythic sluggers of baseball golden days, today’s batters trust in lighter weight bats that also have thinner handles.

True current science comes into the way that many of today’s bats are cup balance. This involves removing as much as three-quarters of an ounce of wood out of the end of the barrel to make the bat lighter. A lighter bat means a faster swing, and a faster swing means a farther drive. Experts estimate that as many as 30 percent of today’s players use a cup balanced bat.

Today’s professional wood bats mostly come from wood from the white ash tree. Some players, though, have been experimenting with wood from maple trees. No matter the tree or the amount of wood they spoon out, though, today’s batters still have to be able to have the hand quickness, touch, know-how, and vision to make that contact. Bats can only help you out so much, even if they are as big as a red wood.

With wood, it usually takes a bit more to get the bat through the contact zone, so start your swing earlier (sooner). This is great training for numerous reasons; one being that you’ll be even quicker with your aluminum bat!

Ash is called a ring porous hardwood because early in the growing period the tree makes big cells. Then later on the cells become much smaller and denser. The zone of big cells each year is in reality the weakest portion of the wood–large cells mean a lot of void space and poor strength. (Oak is also a ring porous wood.) Well, if you develop the ash too slowly, then there can be a larger proportion of large vessels, which means the wood can be weaker; too fast means too weighty as there will be too many dense, small cells. So, it is critical to find the right growth rate that maximizes the properties of the wood.

Bat selections change from competitor to competitor. It does not always depend on your power or particular muscle mass to figure which kind of bat is going to improve your performance at the plate.

Northern white ash baseball bats are the most well-received baseball bats because they are not as weighty as the popular maple wood counter parts. While maple is touted as having greater durability and longevity, northern white ash baseball bats are more cost effective.

The implement being only as good as its user, your northern white ash baseball bat will dispatch equally as long as the esteemed maple wood bats if you focus on the basics of what it takes to be a good hitter. Pro players will boast that they are able to get as many as 2000 hits off of one bat, and it would not be a northern white ash baseball bat.

It is feasible to accomplish the same endurance with a northern white ash baseball bat by not swinging at poor pitches. Foul balls are hitting a part of the bat that sends a wave of energy like an earth rocking tremor down the to the end of the bat, circling through the knob, and racing right back up.

All that activity is jarring the outer circle of the bat, not to cite how you as the hitter can sometimes even sense that uneven power come reeling up through your own nervous systems ganglia like a shocker. Your bat deserves better choices being made. As a hitter, you understand if you have to reach out for that pitch, it is likely to go out of control.

Each time your bat gets the g-force of a pitch outside its ideal center point for hitting, it is receiving a fissure splitting damaging wound. Northern white ash baseball bats will give you as much fulfilment and achievement on the field as any around, just be sure to make sound decisions before you swing!

Wood bats are typically made of Northern White ash, or Rock Maple. These woods are used because they are very powerful, yet they are also fairly light. Ash is still probably the most common wood, but rock maple is becoming more and more accepted because of its durability. some may dispute maple provides a little more pop. Selecting a good piece of wood is important to durability and to how well the ball jumps off of the bat.
